The Purge Movie Review

Oddly I could of sworn I had done this review. I guess not. Well you'll get a few more reviews out of me since I have seen a few horror movies. It's been a bit so bare with me that the details might not be the best. I'll do this one and then you can expect one of World War Z... trust me you don't want to miss that.

Synopsis: It's in the future and to help with things the government had created a Purge. For 12 hours all crimes including murder can happen without being arrested or punish. The movie focuses on one family, The Sandin's who have the top of the line security system so they stay safe. They unfortunately have to battle with many others who don't want them to survive.

Review: While this movie could have gone a completely different way I was expecting it to go the way it was. Not sure if I'm that jaded with mainstream horror movies that I know the basic direction of them. I saw the big twist well before it even happened. I will say for a movie that has a big messed up event it really lacked the gore and disturbing nature that they could have gone with. I believe that is what the second movie will be on.

I don't know what the point of this movie was when the started because it seem like they really hyped up the purge and then really what you saw was child's play. Nothing too horrible, nothing that scared the shit out of you. I guess if you don't want much horror movies and then see this one you might get scared.

This movie like I said was decent it again shows the lack of horror and gore that I enjoy in these movies. I like being scared and gross out and once again Hollywood has failed to do that. I'm instead seeing that the neighbor is totally going to try to kill the family at some point. I will said at the end were they still try to kill them and the wife yells at them she wants peace and quiet was perfect.

If you want to see a movie that has an interesting new idea, but needs more direction check it out. It's worth the watch.

And the second one The Purge: Anarchy

Lords of Salem Movie Review

Finally got to watch another horror movie. It's been a while I'm just so busy that it's hard to fit in time to watch movies. I wish we picked a better movie than this. I cannot remembering much about how the movie was advertised, but I don't think it showed much.

Synopsis: I'm not 100% sure what this movie was about, but I believe it was about revenge for the women (yes the actual witches) who died during the witch trials on the family of the man who was responsible.

Review: I think Rob Zombie as a horror writer and director has lost it's appeal. I know I was poorly mistaken when I thought he couldn't doing after watching House of a 1,000s Corpses I was ready for more of his movies. Devil's Rejects was decent and the Halloween reboots were okay. This one by far is the worse. I was bored right from the beginning. I was confused on what was going on and where the story was going.

I feel like there wasn't much put into the movie and either they cut a lot out of the final production or didn't have enough money because the movie just ended and the credits played similar to House of a 1,000 Corpses. I was let down by this movie and felt like we wasted time watching it. So unless you're a huge Rob Zombie fan and have to watch and listen to everything he does don't waste your time on this movie.

I will say that I spent a little time in Salem a few years ago and during the movie was trying to see if I recognized anything.
