Human Centipede 2 U.S. Release Date

Raise your hand if you are going to see the midnight showing on October 7th for the Human Centipede 2... Dude, put your hand down. I sure as hell am not going to. From what I read back when I first announce the plot line I told you I wasn't going to watch it, I still am not going to watch it in a theater. If you go I would expect really creepy guys who get off on snuff films and leather wearing ponytails and Hawaiian shirts. Not a pretty picture and no guys do not make this one of those scary movies you take a girl to, so you can make a move. This is how you will loose that girl forever and have to pay for her therapy sessions.

If anyone decides to see this movie I might let you write a review here on the horror house blog. I really don't want to, but if someone else is sick enough to watch it and wants to, then I will gladly do that. However, I will read it/them first before posting them.

So there you have it more news on a horrible movie.

The Thing Trailer

I never saw the 1982 version of this movie, but after seeing this trailer I just might see if and this one. For those of you who are confused on this movie, it's a prelude to John Carpenter's 1982 movie by the same name. Yeah I know a little confusing. Here's the trailer, it looks pretty good.

Reinventing a Classic?!

You all may not know me well enough to know that usually I am against remaking movies, especially if it is a movie I love. Hell, I am even against making sequels for some movies. So when I saw news that they are planing on reinventing the 1994 movie The Crow I was pissed. This is one of my all time favorite movies and I was never fond of the sequels. I'm sorry Brandon Lee will always be the Crow AKA Eric Draven in my book. Shock till you Drop shared the news and boy the information that I am seeing is just.... horrible.

Relativity Media's President of Worldwide Production, Tucker Tooley, and Edward R. Pressman, producer behind the cult-classic "The Crow" franchise, announced today they have attached Alex Tse (Watchmen) to write their reinvention of The Crow, the 1994 critically film based on the comic book series and comic strip by James O'Barr.

Directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later), The Crowadaptation will be a gritty reboot of the gothic iconic character Eric Draven, who returns from the grave as The Crow on a mission to avenge his wife's murder, so that his soul can finally rest. Bradley Cooper (Limitless) is attached to star as Draven. "The original film is known for its breakthrough visual style as well as its unique production design and cinematography. Fresnadillo and Tse are perfectly suited to bring these beloved characters back to life, and to create a world worthy of this modern classic," said Relativity.

Relativity and Edward R. Pressman Film Corporation will be teaming with Spain-based Apaches Entertainment on the production. The Crow is being produced by Edward R. Pressman, Jeff Most, Relativity’s CEO Ryan Kavanaugh, and Apaches' Enrique López Lavigne and Belén Atienza. Relativity's Tooley (The Fighter) and Apaches' Jesus de la Vega will serve as executive producers. José Ibáñez and Pressman Film Corporation's Jon Katz will serve as co-producers. 

Tse is represented by CAA, Margaret Riley at Brillstein Entertainment Partners, and attorney Ira Scheck of Schreck Rose & Dapello.

Yeah you read that right they want Bradley Cooper to play Draven.... um it's a very dark and gothic kind of character and a pretty boy in my eyes cannot do it good. Heck none of the other crows have done it well. As I said Brandon Lee did such a great job that most fans of the movie only see him as the crow.  So it is safe to say that I will be keeping my eye out of news of what is to come of this remake that will make me want to cry...

Sequel News for an Old 1980s Film

I am a few day late in posting this, but I was busy with roller derby and concerts this weekend. Anyway, this news caught my eye because, 1) I had no idea there was a sequel in the making and 2) that anyone wanted one. What I am talking about? Well, that awesome movie from the 1980s called Killer Klowns from Outer Space has a sequel in the making for next year. You can read the details here. Yes, I am old enough to remember this movie, I was young, but not that young. It's been ages since I have seen it and I just might try to find it on netflix. I am not sure how I feel about it. It was definitely a cheesy horror movie and was up there with IT for causing children to fear clowns. I am sure that the sequel cannot be taken seriously... did we take Attack of the Killer Tomatoes serious? I sure didn't and there was even a children's cartoon based on the killer tomatoes.

Yes I will keep you all updated on the horrible news about this movie.

Update on Human Centipede Sequel Part II

So it looks like we have a response from Tom Six, who is the man behind this... whatever you want to call these movies. I don't want to call them art, or monsters... I guess we'll just stick to calling them creative movies.

So in case you've been dying to know what Six looks like and put a face to the crazy plot of his movies... here he is. Aww he looks like that night quite neighbor you have... I guess he likes guns and is know for wearing cowboy hats.


So here is Six's colorful response to BBFC's decision to banned the sequel to his movie:

“Thank you BBFC for putting spoilers of my movie on your website and thank you for banning my film in this exceptional way. Apparently I made an horrific horror-film, but shouldn't a good horror film be horrific? My dear people it is a f****cking MOVIE. It is all fictional. Not real. It is all make-belief. It is art. Give people their own choice to watch it or not. If people can't handle or like my movies they just don't watch them. So I already told you that I thought the description of the movie sounded like a snuff film or porno. I am all for being able to express yourself, but at the same time I also understand why the board made this decision. I think they are afraid that someone is going to forget reality and think this is real and try to make it their own... just like the character in the sequel. We do have enough sick people in this world, that we really don't need anymore getting new ideas from a movie.

Also, I am not sure how much is or isn't revealed by the plot in yesterday's news, so I cannot really comment on Six's statement on that. I do however agree with him that people should be allow to watch his movie if they want to. However, I think he forgets that we live in the age of the internet. Movies are leaked on the net as soon as they hit theaters and plots are released on the net as well as soon as someone has seen it. So why he thinks that no one will know what's going to happen before they see it is beyond me, but I am sure he feels that these movies are his babies and doesn't want anything bad to happen to them.

So I am sure there will be more drama as this movie comes closer to being released.

Human Centipede II News

It looks like we have a plot for the second human centipede movie. I will post the entire description, because there is no way I could paraphrase it. The news came out about the sequel because the BBFC or the British Board of Film Classification is rejecting the movie to be released in the UK. Now since I live in the United States I had to look up what exactly the BBFC is. From my research it is an independent industry that gives movies and video games their ratings as well as deeming what can and cannot be released in the UK.

All I can say is that the director is saying that the sequel will make the first one look like my little pony... I am not joking this is what he said. I didn't buy it until I read the discretion. Read below and I will tell you after what I think of this movie based on the information provided.

"The first film dealt with a mad doctor who sews together three kidnapped people in order to produce the ‘human centipede’of the title. Although the concept of the film was undoubtedly tasteless and disgusting it was a relatively traditional and conventional horror film and the Board concluded that it was not in breach of our Guidelines at ‘18’. This new work, The Human Centipede II (Full Sequence), tells the story of a man who becomes sexually obsessed with a DVD recording of the first film and who imagines putting the ‘centipede’ idea into practice. Unlike the first film, the sequel presents graphic images of sexual violence, forced defecation, and mutilation, and the viewer is invited to witness events from the perspective of the protagonist. Whereas in the first film the ‘centipede’ idea is presented as a revolting medical experiment, with the focus on whether the victims will be able to escape, this sequel presents the ‘centipede’ idea as the object of the protagonist’s depraved sexual fantasy.

 The principal focus of The Human Centipede II (Full Sequence) is the sexual arousal of the central character at both the idea and the spectacle of the total degradation, humiliation, mutilation, torture, and murder of his naked victims. Examples of this include a scene early in the film in which he masturbates whilst he watches a DVD of the original Human Centipede film, with sandpaper wrapped around his penis, and a sequence later in the film in which he becomes aroused at the sight of the members of the ‘centipede’ being forced to defecate into one another’s mouths, culminating in sight of the man wrapping barbed wire around his penis and raping the woman at the rear of the ‘centipede’. There is little attempt to portray any of the victims in the film as anything other than objects to be brutalised, degraded and mutilated for the amusement and arousal of the central character, as well as for the pleasure of the audience. There is a strong focus throughout on the link between sexual arousal and sexual violence and a clear association between pain, perversity and sexual pleasure. It is the Board’s conclusion that the explicit presentation of the central character’s obsessive sexually violent fantasies is in breach of its Classification Guidelines and poses a real, as opposed to a fanciful, risk that harm is likely to be caused to potential viewers.

So do you remember when I did my review on the Human Centipede and I was complaining how it wasn't gory or gross enough for me? Well it know seems like the director has not only listen to me, but has gone off the deep end. I expect to see more gore and what not, but this level of sex and torture sounds more like a snuff film. I don't what kind of sick person thinks up these kind of things. Yes, it you write horror movie scripts and books maybe you are not the most normal person in the world, but this seems like someone who is holding back some sick tendencies.

I am not sure I even want to watch this movie. The description makes me think I will have someone knocking on my door assuming me of enjoying rape, torture and unfit to enjoy my freedom. I am not sure if this movie will be banded in the US as well, but even if it is not I think I will wait to see what people say about it before I even consider watching this movie. So know that you know what this movie is about, will you watch it?
