Curse of Chucky

I know I've been quite, but I'm a busy woman over here. Work has taken over my life as it does every summer and there is just no time to watch a horror movie. That will change hopefully especially with Horror Madness creeping up on us.

So to try to break this horrible silence here's a bit of news and my review of an upcoming movie.

So yes, they made another Chucky movie. Aren't we done with this series? After watching the trailer below you'll see how a waste of money this one is. When it gets release don't see it.

Synopsis: After the events of Child's Play 3, Nica, a young woman forced to a wheelchair since birth, has to regroup her sister, Barb and her brother-in-law, Ian for a funeral after the death of her mother. While dealing with Barb, Ian, along with their 5-year-old daughter, Alice; Nica receives an odd package - a creepy doll. After people start showing up dead, the fearless Nica soon suspects that the creepy doll is much more than just a doll.(taken from IMDB).

My Opinions: So I didn't hear about this until yesterday when it was on several horror friends of mine's facebooks. After enough people kept asking me about it decided to go ahead and check it out. Well let's just say this, this is one of those franchises that should just stop. No one cares about Chucky or what happen to him. Not sure why they even bothered with this movie. I know it's not going out into theater so it's going straight to DVD so it can end up in the $5 bin at Walmart.

There's nothing about this movie that looks good. And I mean nothing. We all know that a creepy ginger doll showing up mysteriously is asking for all alarm bells to go off.

So you're all just going to have to wait for me to tell you when a good movie is coming out.

Texas Chainsaw 3D

I am a little late in posting this, but we have a trailer and a poster for the upcoming Texas Chainsaw 3D. I'll let you watch it below and then I'll give my opinion on it.

My opinion: I am not sure about this movie. While I like that they are basing this off of the 1973 movie and not the 2006 movie I don't know if i will enjoy it. Yes, I will still watch and review it, but I am not sure of how good this one will be. I feel from what I saw in the movie it's too much like every other remake of a slasher film. Yes, there are key elements to a slasher film, but there is a way of over doing it.

Upcoming Movie: Bait (2012)

Now the reason I have this called Bait (2012) because in 2000 there was another movie call Bait that had nothing to do with sharks. This Bait is about people being trapped in a grocery store after a huge tsunami hits the island. They are not alone as they have to deal with sharks...

So here's my video on my thoughts about this movie and then I will insert the trailer.

Chernobyl Diaries

So we all know that I am not found of the found tape genre that is going crazy right now with Hollywood. It was cool at first, but now it has just gotten... repetative. With that said there are TV spots and trailers released for the upcoming movie Chernobyl Diaries. Now for those of you who have no idea what Chernobyl is, then you must have been born in the late 90s early 2000. I was very young when it happen like 3 so I don't remember it too well, but Chernobly was a town in the Ukraine where a nuclear reactor had a meltdown and the town became a ghost town. It is still not safe for people to go there and it is just abandoned.

So this movie is written by the same guy who did Paranormal Activity. So I am not sure what we can expect from it. But it's suppose to be about 6 tourist who hire an extreme tour guide and they are taken into the town of Chernobyl. They find out they are not alone. I will admit even though I am not a fan of found tapes, I think the whole idea of Chernobyl is very interesting. I watched Destination Truth where they investigated the area looking for ghosts. So needless to say I will be very interested in this movie when it comes out on may 25. So here are the clips we have been given thus far.

Human Centipede 2 U.S. Release Date

Raise your hand if you are going to see the midnight showing on October 7th for the Human Centipede 2... Dude, put your hand down. I sure as hell am not going to. From what I read back when I first announce the plot line I told you I wasn't going to watch it, I still am not going to watch it in a theater. If you go I would expect really creepy guys who get off on snuff films and leather wearing ponytails and Hawaiian shirts. Not a pretty picture and no guys do not make this one of those scary movies you take a girl to, so you can make a move. This is how you will loose that girl forever and have to pay for her therapy sessions.

If anyone decides to see this movie I might let you write a review here on the horror house blog. I really don't want to, but if someone else is sick enough to watch it and wants to, then I will gladly do that. However, I will read it/them first before posting them.

So there you have it more news on a horrible movie.

Shark Night 3D

It looks like once again this summer the theater will be taken over by another cheesy animal attack movie. What am I talking about, well I am talking about Shark Night 3-D. That's right after last summer's Piranha 3-D that some of us suffer through, I have yet to see the movie, there will be another movie like it this summer. What's summer without water, bikinis, sex and murder?

From what I can tell from the trailer, since an actual website for the movie has nothing, but the trailer and IMDB has a two sentence synopsis, this movie is about 7 college kids (surprise, surprise) who are planning a trip to an island miles away from the mainland. I thought it was the Florida Keys, but I guess it's Louisiana Gulf Coast. Does it matter where it is? Not really, but I guess it does and you'll understand once I finish explaining the plot of the movie.

So these good looking and sexy college kids are enjoying their time having sex and drinking because that's all us college kids do, right? So we all know one of the main rules in horror movies, if you have sex you will die. While I cannot say for sure if this is true, more than likely it will be true. I haven't seen a horror movie yet, where someone has sex and survived, but correct me if I am wrong. So after some time on this island, one of the college kids gets killed. From the look of the trailer it covers another rule in horror movies, the black person is always the first to die if present. I don't know why this is true, but if you look on the comments on the trailer I posted you will see it come up a lot. Anyway back to the trailer, it turns out that sharks are attacking these kids. Oh no!! Not the sexy drunk kids. Whatever shall we do?!

Yes, sharks, just like in Jaws, all the sequels that came after plus Deep Blue Sea. We know sharks are scary and people think they will attack everyone in the water. This is so not true and the man who wrote the book Jaws has been trying to fix the damage he has done letting everyone know that sharks are not something to fear and kill, but respect. Okay, I'll get off my hippie, animal loving soapbox. To make it even more scary this movie will be in 3-D. Which means 3-D BOOBIES!!! Yes, now those of you men who don't have a real pair to squeeze and grab and can try to grab fake movie optical illusion boobs. This also means you will be paying an extra couple of bucks for them fancy 3-D glasses that don't come in the awesome blue and red lenses anymore. So this means that if you sit in the direct center of the theater you might have boobs and sharks coming to attack you. If you are not so lucky then it will just pass you by.

Another, annoying thing about the movie is the Louisiana Gulf Coast is freshwater. For all of you who are not so into science, like me, even though I work at a zoo, sharks live in saltwater or sea water. They can not survive in freshwater because their bodies are made a certain way to handle the salt, just like we are meant to breath in oxygen and not carbon dioxide. From the looks of the trailer there is some sick bastard/s who are setting these sharks loose. So, there could be a serial killer angle to this movie as well.

In case you are wondering who directed it, it is done by the same guy who did the second and fourth final destination movies. Yeah those were such great movies. Also, the only name on the cast list I recognize is Katherine McPhee and I don't know many pop stars. She's not one of the main college kids so I have no clue who any of these actors are, but that's not big surprise here. Most horror movies today either have washed up actors or no names.... okay well maybe not all of them, Saw had Donnie Wahlberg who is  doing pretty good these days.

So it seems this movie is just another way to scare the crap out of people from going swimming and make lots of money because it's in 3-D, "it's like I can touch you."(see video below to get the joke. It's a funny video that explains 3-D). So will I see this movie.... if I am really bored this summer, maybe I will so I can make fun of it. I doubt I will be that bore between working 40 plus hours and the fact I'm taking the GRE, but maybe I will want to drive myself further into insanity by watching this. If I don't see it in the theater I will watch in when it comes out on DVD, which will probably be by Valentine's Day. Aww what a sweet gift that would be for your sweetie.

Anyway, thanks for stopping by and enjoy the videos below. They both should have you laughing.

Things to Come

Sorry all that I have not been posting anything new. I have been busy with some things for work and haven't had time to update. I do want to let you know what movies I am going to start writing/recording reviews of and some topics I have already been thinking about discussing.

First, I am going to write a review of 8213: Gacy House. It won't be a long one since there isn't much to review, but I figured people might want to know what it's about. Second to come or maybe first because of timing I will discuss Vincent Price's best movies... in my own opinion. As you can see from the review queue  I have several to review and Mr. Price's birthday was this past Friday, May 27th. So I might once again push back the Gacy review and do a post about one of the great men in Horror/Suspense thriller/Macabre movies. Doesn't hurt that he's pretty good looking as well.

I also am planning on doing a topic/review on original VS remakes. I have not seen them all, but with movies like Nightmare on Elm Street Being redone and My Bloody Valentine, why not watch both original and the remake to see which really is better. I also might turn it into a weekly battle where you guys decide which is better. I'll just have to wait and see how this goes, since I am not getting many people stopping by... geez even the Adams had more people stopping by their creepy house.

I am also planning on making my way through all the horror series like Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, Saw, Scream an any other that come up or people suggest. This way you will know what the whole thing is about and whether certain parts of the series are worth your time or can you just skip some of them. I can already think of a few that I wish I had skipped because they got that bad...

So that is what I have up in the works hopefully I will have a review up soon, more than likely it will be a written one and not a video post. Again, thanks for stopping by and please do let me know what you think of it.
