Human Centipede 2 U.S. Release Date

Raise your hand if you are going to see the midnight showing on October 7th for the Human Centipede 2... Dude, put your hand down. I sure as hell am not going to. From what I read back when I first announce the plot line I told you I wasn't going to watch it, I still am not going to watch it in a theater. If you go I would expect really creepy guys who get off on snuff films and leather wearing ponytails and Hawaiian shirts. Not a pretty picture and no guys do not make this one of those scary movies you take a girl to, so you can make a move. This is how you will loose that girl forever and have to pay for her therapy sessions.

If anyone decides to see this movie I might let you write a review here on the horror house blog. I really don't want to, but if someone else is sick enough to watch it and wants to, then I will gladly do that. However, I will read it/them first before posting them.

So there you have it more news on a horrible movie.

Resident Evil Viral Website

I thought I would share this, since this game fits right in the with the zombie genre. It was out before zombies became... popular I guess is the correct word. Now I have not played any of the games, so my knowledge is a bit limited, but I must say having a viral website is pretty cool to do before the release.

The game is Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City. Like I said I have not played any of these games, but this website does make me want to play this one, when it comes out. The premise of the website is to bring you to the Umbrella Science website where you'll learn all about them... actually the website gets hacked by another website called inserted evil where a mysterious man is trying to bring to light (no pun intended) all the bad things that are going on with Umbrella. The website will give you clues weekly and you have to solve them. You can get help from friends via facebook and twitter to help unlock the clues. The first clue is up and no I have not solved it yet.

I will say this is a ingenious idea by Capcom to get people not only excited about the game, but to keep them busy until it comes out on... well that's still unknown according to IGN. I say give the site a looks and if you are into what is going on try to solve the clues. Check out the website at www.umbrellasciences.com

Here's the E3 trailer for the game incase you are curious about the game.

Movie Review: The Thing (1982)

Let's get one thing straight, I am not a fan of anything extraterrestrial or about aliens. Yes, I find the supernatural interesting, but I look at ghosts and mythical or cryptozoological creature as supernatural or paranormal. Aliens aren't my thing, if I had to choose I would choose zombies over aliens hands down. So when it comes to alien movies I am not a fan. Never had been and never will.

Synopsis: Scientists working in Antarctica are forced to abandon their research after a helicopter crashes near their camp, bringing a lone dog into their midst. But the plot thickens when the otherworldly canine changes form in the middle of the night. As it turns out, the dog is a shape-shifting alien that can attack animals -- and unsuspecting humans. Kurt Russell stars in this creepy John Carpenter-directed remake of the 1950s classic.

Review: As I stated above I am not a fan of alien stuff, movies, conspiracies, and the like. Yes, I did watch E.T. when I was a kid and I liked it, but it was just a simple movie to me back then and I have not seen it since I was little. So to say that this was not a movie on top of my to see list is about right. After seeing the trailer for the prequel that is coming out in a few months I was interested and as usual I had people in shock that I had not seen this movie. Let me tell you I am WAY behind in movies, I wasn't allowed to see a lot of movies when I was a kid and the list is probably huge if I actually tried to make one of all the movies everyone else has seen that I hadn't.

So with this movie I was surprised that I like it given the fact it is an alien movie and I don't enjoy those kind of movies. It was a movie that always had you guessing who was taken over by the alien. It kept my attention and I was never bored. I am now wondering what is going on and will be seeing the prequel when it coming out. If this is on your list to watch, go ahead and watch it. It's gory, but your typically 80's gore that most movies back then had and not where you want to throw up. The story line is interesting and is original, I don't think aliens in Antarctica is a common thing, but I'm not in the alien circles. See this movie especially, if you are wanting to see the prequel.

Movie Review: Red Riding Hood

I saw this movie months ago, but have been putting off writing the review. So the movie is not fresh in my head, but I am still able to tell you all about this... interesting take on an old fairy tale. We have all heard the story of Little Red Riding Hood who wore a red cape when taking a basket to her grandmother. She is tricked by the wolf and is saved by a woodsman. So how did we get this teen movie? The director Twilight gave it to us.

Synopsis: Valerie (Seyfried) is a beautiful young woman torn between two men. She is in love with a brooding outsider, Peter (Fernandez), but her parents have arranged for her to marry the wealthy Henry (Irons). Unwilling to lose each other, Valerie and Peter are planning to run away together when they learn that Valerie's older sister has been killed by the werewolf that prowls the dark forest surrounding their village. For years, the people have maintained an uneasy truce with the beast, offering the creature a monthly animal sacrifice. But under a blood red moon, the wolf has upped the stakes by taking a human life. Hungry for revenge, the people call on famed werewolf hunter, Father Solomon (Oldman), to help them kill the wolf. But Solomon's arrival brings unintended consequences as he warns that the wolf, who takes human form by day, could be any one of them. As the death toll rises with each moon... Written by Warner Bros. Pictures

Review: To say this movie is loosely based on an old fairy tale is an understatement. To be honest when I heard this was a movie I was confused how it was going to become sexy and appeal to young adults. I guess with movies like Twilight anything supernatural is now hot and sexy. There's now a book genre called "Teen Paranormal Romance" if you think I am joking walk into any Barnes and Nobles and you will find it. I'm not sure how the paranormal became hot and popular, but I liked it better when it wasn't.

This movie isn't too bad, I rather sit through this one than any of the Twilight movies. If you ignore everything you know of the fable and watch this movie you will honestly forget about the story you were told as a child. I'm not sure what time period the story is suppose to take place, but in this movie it's medieval times. They did a good job keeping with the time period of how superstitious people back then were. The colors of the movie were good as well. The red cape popped on screen while the snowy white scenery made everything look pure.

What I enjoyed about the movie is that you were constantly guessing who the wolf was. Yes, in this movie it's a werewolf and not a wolf, but still the writer (who wrote the screenplays for The Green Mile and the Orphan) made it a huge guessing game. I like mysteries so I was glad that you never knew who it was until the end. I love that with movies. Don't give me the inside knowledge of who did it keep me guessing. You'll get me to sit through your movie longer

What I disliked about the movie was the silly romance love triangle thing. I am not sure why teens/ young adults and sometimes adults like movies where the girl has to pick between two lovers, I find it annoying. Be glad you have men after you and pick the one you actually love or the one that has more money. I don't care which, just don't keep teetering between them. I almost want to say it's just about the same plot-line as Twilight, but without the vampire. I said almost, but if you believe there's some similarities then obviously I am not the only one.

So should you rent this movie... if you like Twilight and that whole sexy paranormal minus the Winchester brothers then yeah. If you rather watch actual blood, gore and scare you so bad you piss your self then don't. This movie is targeted towards teenage girls.
