Zombie, Run! App

I plan on doing a more detail review when I have done more missions, but I wanted to give a quick one after I did the first mission. You should check out there web site https://www.zombiesrungame.com/

So this is what I believe is the first storyline zombie running app on the market. It was a kickstarter project that did so well that people are downloading it like crazy. For a while it was only available on the iphone, but as of June 14th android smartphones can run it as well. You are runner number 5. You are arriving at this base when your helicopter crashes. The communication guy is giving you directions and guiding you through the zombies. You cannot respond to him, but you can hear him over your radio. You have missions to complete, starting off you have 3 and as you move on I think you unlock the rest.

I was amazed with how I was getting chills while listening to the transmission before and after the crash. In between the transmissions your music plays and you can either walk or run depending on your fitness level. You can even turn off the zombie chases. I had it turned on and there was only one chase, but man did I feel like I really needed to run. You know it's pretend, but you feel like responding to the people talking, but then your neighbors will think you're crazy. Also, because they tell you that they won't let you in unless you get the supplies they need you don't want to get attack. You don't become a zombie if they catch you, but you loose the supplies you've picked up.

 So far it seems like a great app.

The Sims 3 Supernatural

If there is one game I play and sometimes play too much is The Sims. I started playing these games back in the... mid 90s with the original Sims and expansion packs. One of my favorites other than Pets was Making Magic. This game you were basically a witch and had a separate world to visit and all of that. I enjoyed it and was wondering if they ever were going to do another one for the newest sims.

I guess someone bugged them enough or with all the supernatural themed TV shows and movie out. So we have The Sims 3 Supernatural. It looks like you can be a werewolf, vampire, a witch, a fairy and a few others that sounds awesome, but are spells you put rather than being the actual creature i.e. zombies.... aww I wanted to make a zombie sims and control them.

So this is your basic expansion pack which hopefully will not disappoint. Here's the announcement trailer.

I am interested to see how this is going to play out. I have no clue the difference if there even is one between RPG and MOBA. I think if I had to choose I would either be the Bride of Frankenstein or the wolfman. Which character would you be?

Horror Apps

No not about apps that are horrible, there are plenty of them out there I am sure. I'm on the looking out for apps that are horror in them. I have only one right now and I am dying to try it, but I won't for a while. I need more though. I just got an iphone and want to get some good apps. Even none horror related ones that you think I might like.

I have Zombies, Run! Which is a running/interval training app that has a nice story about being a survivor and trying to stay away from zombies while collecting supplies for the base you are on. You also can take the items and put where you think they need to go on your base. It sounds great and I have it, but not used it yet. I am towards the end of my couch to 5k program and I want to finish that before I do the zombies one.

Movie Review: Prometheus

Now this maybe not be exactly a horror movie, but it does have elements of horror and I think for some people the Alien movies were classified as horror. So if you are not sure why the hell I am review this movie, those are my reasons. Also, I have only seen clips of Alien and seen all of Alien vs Predator. So I will explain if you are like me and are not familiar with this franchise if you are going to be lost.

Synopsis: A team of scientists explore a new planet in the middle of the universe to find the beginning of mankind. They get more than they bargain for and have to survive here in order to make it out alive.

Review: There was a lot of mystery surrounding this movie so I am not going to give away the entire plot. For those of you who do not know this movie is the pre-qual to Alien. They give that hint towards the end of the movie, but I think people were clueless. During that part a guy in the back was yelling, "What the hell is that? What's going on?" Other's made similar remarks. I may not have seen the movies, but I do know what the Aliens look like.

So the movie while not really scary had some decent gory parts. One in particular I had trouble with it and I usually can detach myself and not get too affected by it. So the gore was up there compare to other movies. Better than some actual horror movies. So if you are hoping for some gross alien goo and gore this movie is for you.

The acting was top notch I didn't have any issues with anyone and while at some parts they are building up to the end might be slow for some people I didn't have an issue. The movie is 2 hours long and I never once was sitting there wondering when was going to end. I have done this in other movies even ones that were an hour and a half I got to a point where I was hoping we were near the end. So the movie flows very nice and you are not really left confused.

If you have not seen any of the Alien movies then you are find to watch this one. Because it's a pre-qual and doesn't seem to assume that the audience has seen the other movies you can sit back and enjoy it without having to have an Alien marathon before seeing this movie.

Also, even though this planet looks bare and deserted there's a beauty to it. I am not sure where Ridely Scott was going with the landscape, but there is something beautiful about it and the entire movie itself.

Over all I say go see this movie. It's truly a good one.

Is It Upon Us?

So even though I do not watch the news and accidentally get most of the big news stories on Facebook I miss most of them. Unless someone tells me about it. Well it seems like here in the US we are starting to see signs that zombie are upon us. Also, from what I have seen all the "zombies" were high on bath salts... not the cool way people became zombies in the movies, but I guess we never really knew how it would begin. Though science stuff like a virus or something sounds better than a drug. So I will link the articles on the most recent ones and you can decide for yourself if we need to start preparing for the Zombie Apocalypse.

So what are we to do? Well here's my list:
1) Stay away from anyone one doing bath salts or places where people do drugs.
2) Hide your kids, hide your wife
3) Stock pile food and supplies
4) Get all the weapons you can and every type possible. Remember guns make noise and have no effect on these bath salt zombies.
5) Board up your house with all your supplies
6) Trust no one!!!

So to all of you in the South please be ready for this to get worse and everyone else in the world better see this as a warning to prepare.
